The Chandigarh Airport is situated at the Union Territory of Chandigarh, which is the capital city of Punjab and Haryana. This airport is being considered as one of the busiest domestic airports in North India. The international terminal work in this airport is underway. There are now a total of 19 domestic flights, which is connecting Chandigarh to another parts of the country.
The international terminal of Chandigarh airport is being built at Mohali. There are three-link taxiways, parallel taxi track as well as separate cargo complex in the new terminal. There is also an additional hanger for the flying clubs. The new terminal will have 4 aerobridges and eight remote parking stands for wide-bodied aircraft. This project being undertaken by both Punjab and Haryana governments as partners.
